Do I have to install the app on both SharePoint and Confluence?
This article applies only to SharePoint Connector for Confluence Data Center versions 1.12.x and 2.x, which use the legacy SPFx Web Part integration.
Solution
It is possible to install the SharePoint Connector for Confluence only on Confluence. As a consequence, you will not be able to display Confluence content in SharePoint.
It's not possible to only install the SharePoint part and use the app.
For installing with SharePoint OnPrem you also need the URL rewrite and CORS configuration in SharePoint.
The DNS configuration is not necessary for the connector to work in Confluence.
