Can I synchronize my Confluence user profile fields from LDAP/Active Directory (AD) when Confluence is not directly connected to the LDAP/AD?

This depends on how you connected the LDAP/AD to Confluence:

  • Synchronizing constellation:
    • Confluence → LDAP/Active Directory
    • Confluence → third party app → LDAP/Active Directory
  • Non-synchronizing constellations:
    • Confluence → JIRA → LDAP/Active Directory
    • Confluence → JIRA → Crowd → LDAP/Active Directory

Solution

Connect Confluence directly to LDAP/Active Directory. Alternatively you can use one of the apps described at Synchronizing user directories without LDAP connection.
