Why does my license not work with data center?

Either you are using a server app in an Atlassian Data Center product, because previously there was no Data Center app available or you recently switched from an Atlassian server product to a DataCenter product.

Your license was either purchased or renewed after September 3, 2019 or the app for data center was first released after September 3, 2019

Solution

According to the Atlassian FAQ you can receive a refund under the following conditions:

  • You renewed or purchased a Server app with a start date on or after September 3, 2019, Atlassian will provide a refund conditional on the purchase of a Data Center app.

  • If a Marketplace vendor introduces a Data Center approved app on or after September 3, 2019, and you have a Server app license.

Atlassian will refund out any unused portion of the Server app license for the purchase of a Data Center app license. Within the first 30 days of purchase, you can receive a full refund. After 30 days of purchase, you will receive a pro-rated refund based on the date from when you request the refund.

  1. Please contact your local Atlassian partner where you originally purchased the license or contact Atlassian for reimbursement of the Server license of the app that doesn’t work on a Data Center edition any more.

  2. After you got reimbursed please purchase a Data Center license for the app.
