Editing macros: error message

Problem

This article applies only to legacy SharePoint Connector for Confluence Data Center versions (1.12.x and 2.x).

For some users, the edit dialog for a document or list macro displays an error message after attempting to log in. The problem occurs for the SharePoint server and the cloud version.

Solution

Logged-in users should have at least read access to the root SharePoint site collection to run search queries on the SharePoint List and Document macro configuration.

  1. Open the root site collection of your tenant

  2. Edit the site permissions (in the site settings)

  3. Add read permissions to the affected user
